Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We are pausing program operations due to an unsustainable financial model. Demand for the program has grown beyond our current funding capacity, especially without adequate resources to support staffing and administration costs.

We hope not. Our board is committed to working on a new operational model that will allow Lights On! to continue the program in Minnesota and with our national partners. Our board is working over the next 90 days to evaluate how Lights On! can continue under a new and sustainable operational model.

  • Law enforcement agencies should collect and hold any unused vouchers. We will provide updates after the 90-day review.
  • Auto repair shops should continue to submit eligible invoices before the deadlines. Any repairs completed after the deadline will not be reimbursed.

That grant remains active and will continue to reimburse repair costs for eligible repairs through the term of the grant, June 2026. The grant as its written today only reimburses Lights On! for repair costs and voucher fees. It does not cover staffing or administrative expenses. The grant alone is not enough for us to continue program operations in the state of Minnesota.

Yes! We are continuing our granting work. In 2025, 10 partner agencies will each receive $10,000 to support individuals of potential in their communities.
